License to Teach/ Teacher License!
Should a teacher who decides a child's future be chosen through an OMR exam or a short interview?
We have many categories; the needs of children are different.
So a teacher needs many skills to handle these sections.
OK! for the time being, what are those skills?
Most important: Ability to Teach.
Service Mentality, Communication, Critical Thinking, Imaginative Visualization, Situation handling, Mentoring Ability, Adaptability, Interpersonal Skills, Creativity, Emotional Maturity, Young Mindset, Counselling Tips, Legal awareness, Knowledge about Student Psychology, Social and Professional Commitment, Professional and Social Ethics, Discipline etc etc.
So, don't they have to be assessed?
Yep! Must have to.
There should be a registration authority for this.
That authority should give a license / registration.
These skills should be assessed and given a grade.
Thus, only those who get the license should be allowed to take teaching as a profession (private, public, or tuition)
Their competency should be reviewed every two years; check if there is any difference.
We don't need appraisal system like today.
Needs a Unified Review System.
Today,
to become a teacher, you need:
In general education-Master's Degree, Teacher's Training College Degree, NET etc; then an OMR Test.
In Professional Education Sector, just a Master's Degree and an OMR test; No Teacher's Training is required to become a teacher there.
Of course, there is interview in both!
Qualifications needed for working in a company and to teach are one and same; no extra trainings.
So, what is needed:
A Unified Registering Authority assessing the exhaustive skills for the Noble Profession making the profession more ‘noble’ and build secure hands to lead and build the future generation that itself is the future assets of the society and at large the Nation.
